You’re being ranked! No, no, it’s not like that!*

You’re being ranked according to your stats on the number of topics (AKA threads) and comments/posts that you create. As of today, we have only one MVP, cclarry.

This graphic shows how the system works. And yes, this baseball metaphor is very American (and Japanese).  If the group has suggestions for a different metaphor that fits the 4 tiers, please feel free to suggest it a comment below. It’s easily changed. The objective is for it to be fun.

      * Look up Facebook’s precursor if you didn’t get that joke.

      The tiers are:
Rookie: First 199 Topics and Comments. Second String: 200-299 Topics and Comments. Starter 300-399 Topics and Comments. MVP: 499 or More Topics and Comments.

Okay, this may sound like I’m kidding, but I’m not. As this is a musician’s site, we really should come up with a music-related metaphor system for the four tiers, but what would they be?  Remember, each tier represents a member rising up the ranks. Here’s something I’ll put out just to get this process started:

        Tier 1: Roadie
        Tier 2: Drum Tech
        Tier 3: Lighting Crew
        Tier 4: Rock Star

I’m definitely not suggesting using that; I’m just putting it out there as an example. Does anyone have ideas for music-related metaphors that would be fun for this?

Peter, think Roadie (Rookie) is fine and Rock Star as well

but tier 2/3 i would change.

so maybe some options like:  Seeker (Nomad), Jammer (Voyager), Maestro, Rock Star

                @Vst0nE

I think this is better — although I haven’t figured out which options I like best:

Tier 1: Taking Lessons  / Woodshedding
Tier 2: Still in the Garage  / Still in the Basement
                Tier 3: Local Sensation
Tier 4: International Rock Star / Certified Legend

Okay, it’s still open for discussion, but here’s how I just updated it:

                  Tier 1: Woodshedding

Tier 2: Still in the Garage

                  Tier 3: Local Sensation!

                  Tier 4: Rock Star!

                  Tier 5: Certified Legend

I’ll put tier 5 at a level that only cclarry will likely attain within this year.
