📢 NEW SITE FUNCTIONALTY: Music Gear Reviews & Forums + subreddit PowerSearch

One of the missions I had for LinkedMusicians from the beginning was to highlight non-compensated real reviews, as opposed to the compensated faux reviews that come from the marketing budget in this industry that commonly cost developers from several hundred to $20,000+. They’re not reviews, they’re promotions by sales promotion professionals trying to masquerade as reviews. Today, we’re launching two tools that help you get more honest research on the tools you use to make music.

MUSIC GEAR REVIEWS PowerSEARCH
The first search engine we’re introducing is the Music Gear Reviews PowerSEARCH. It’s a custom version of the Google search engine for LinkedMusicians that only searches the reviews of SOS, TapeOp, Mix, MusicTech and FutureMusic. Now, when you want to research reviews for a DAW, plugin, sample library, or other music software, you can use the Magazine Reviews PowerSEARCH to limit your search to trustworthy, non-compensated, journalist reviews.

When your looking for what regular users have to say about a tool your researching or own — let’s say you’ve come across what you think is a bug and want to see if anyone else has had the same issue — we’ve created a single place where you can search them all.

I created LinkedMusicians to be a musician-centric, grass roots community that doesn’t have the bias, manipulation, bad ethics and bad behavior that’s become commonplace in forums and the big social media platforms. I wanted it to cut through the noise, to elevate the non-compensated user instead of influencers, and stopped the increasingly common practices of site owner censoring posts critical of advertising developers and retailers and sites where developer employees and contractors hype the sample libraries and plugins they work on while knocking competitors — all the while, hiding their affiliation and conflict of interest. These tools certainly don’t fix those problems, but they help empower the average music producer.

I see you’ve included that “toxic” forum that, while it has your (and probably some others’) dislike (which I totally understand), undeniably has more collective (positive & negative) thoughts than others due to its reach.

Thank you for your effort to make the search engine better & more useful, and being the bigger man.
