New update for TONEX

For all TONEX software and hardware users (including TONEX CS), this free update adds 8 new FX, including 2 delays, chorus, flanger, tremolo, phaser, rotary and new spring reverb. Two new FX blocks can be configured pre- or post-amp and cab for maximum customization.

Version 1.8.0 also adds an improved Noise Gate for improved accuracy and a pre/post option, delivering ultra-tight gating for modern guitar styles. The 8 FX are compatible with TONEX Mac/PC, TONEX Pedal and TONEX ONE.

I’ve seen a lot of super positive, enthusiastic praise for Tonex — I haven’t checked in with my pal Peter T (we go way back, long before he worked for IK). How is it differentiated from Amplitube? I think it’s largely because it allows the user to model their own gear, but I really don’t know.

And FTR, I only play guitar sample libraries on my MIDI keyboard. While I own a few guitars, my tendinitis is too bad to attempt to play them anymore. So, I regularly use sampled electric guitar and either use the presets or with Guitar Rig, Amplitube LE,  Electrum, or another guitar amp sim I own. But I’ve seen a lot of love for Tonex but haven’t totally figured out what’s different about it then Amplitube.
