I LIKED the original Rosewood Grand, but I love this version. It sounds great and there are a ton of superb sounding presets and then there’s the felted piano samples. It’s really like getting two new piano libraries. This instantly makes it into my top 5 favorite grand piano sample libraries. Orange Tree Samples hit it out of the park with this update. To anyone who owns the first version, this is basically a fantastic gift with a felted piano as a bonus.

I remember, as a kid, the music studio my mother worked at had Steinway and Yamaha grand pianos lined up near one another. I played them both with my mother standing nearby and told her that I actually preferred the brighter tone of the Yamaha — realizing that she and most people would choose the Steinway. I attributed it to the brighter tone of the Yamaha. My mother said she wasn’t surprised, especially since I was a huge rock fan (Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, jazz, blues, R&B, and rock and roll!). I think the preset “Sweet Vanilla” captures what I love about Yamaha grand pianos. Simply a fantastic update. I literally played this until I started getting tendinitis pain and am still having a hard time resisting, even with pain.  That’s how much I love it.
