Pulse Audio – Deals on Kontakt Libraries Up to 92% Off

Pulse Audio has a bunch of deep discounting Kontakt libraries from indie developers a lot of us love, like Ben Osterhouse.

MAJETONE

One small developer I’m a fan of and have been a customer of for probably around 4 or 5 years is Majetone. The developer is a sound engineer and a drummer and is really skilled. I absolutely love his Truck Drums library. He has it on sale and I think it’s an absolute steal at $9.99 US. It nails the Bonham “Levy” sound better than any sampled drum kit I know of. It is super fun to play — with one caveat. It uses a crash / ride cymbal that’s mapped to the same key, so that when you hit the ride cymbal a little too hard, it triggers the crash samples. I contacted him a couple of years ago and urged him to modify the mapping or create another mapping where the ride and crash are on two different keys, like GM mapping, but he hasn’t taken action. Hopefully, if more of us contact him he will.

I’m very likely to pick up his Extended Glockenspiel library, which he clearly hasn’t determined how to price yet. It’s often priced at $49 US reg price, but he just changed it to $19.99 US reg price and has it on sale for $9.99. It sounds great in the demos, and based on his other libraries I own, I expect that it will be a library I’ll use a lot (I once played the glockenspiel in the school band when the kid who regularly played it was sick and unsuccessfully tried to switch from the snare to the glockenspiel). I just bought, installed and have been playing with Majetone Extended Glockenspiel and I love it. It has a bunch of presets that are really nice. I suppose I can stop buying glockenspiel sample libraries (I actually own a real one that I have in my basement with my keyboards, rack mount synths, drums, congas, bongos, percussion, and assorted music and PA gear). I have an affiliate relationship with Loot Audio, which is also selling it, but they’re asking something like $49 US for it, so, if you’re going to buy it, get it from Pulse Audio. I don’t have an affiliate relationship, but the price is far cheaper there. On a side note, clearly, the developer hasn’t figured out how to price his libraries. Hopefully, it will get that worked out soon and have more consistency (some libraries are free on Pulse Audio and not free on other channels and Extended Glockenspiel has had a list price that has ranged from $19.99 to, I think (from memory), $69 at the various resellers and directly at the Majetone website $9.99 US is the lowest price I’ve seen for the library.
