Thanks @Fleer. I hadn’t seen you around much and missed you!
Your friend who keeps the beat. I suppose I'm also the chef at this place.
Okay, checked the demos. I’m not going to hold back. It sounds really really not good to my ears. I’m pretty open minded, but this doesn’t sound like a modern pro library to me. It sounds like an amateur vocal sample library from decades ago in the slundfont era. I really found the demos surprisingly below expectations for a Kontakt developer. Just my honest opinion.

DISCLOSURE: I’ve advised more than 3 dozen sample and plugin developers on branding and marketing strategy. I’ve never been paid to make posts, they reflect my sincere opinions, and I’ve never been an influencer.
Just heard the demos, during which I was just laughing out loud.
You were so right 🙂

QUASI BRIEF — BUT NOT REALLY BRIEF — TANGENT ON CRITICAL COMMENTS VS. THE KINDS OF POSTS I FIND PROBLEMATIC
Here’s the thing. I’m mostly a pretty kind, considerate person. But I also as a strategist can be pretty savage and I sometimes have to watch that. I don’t want to insult any developers if they’re just out there trying to keep their businesses running. And this developer seems decent, but I can’t deny that the demos sound awful to me. Like a bunch of bad soundfonts from the 90s.
So yeah, unfortunately, if I’m being honest, this library sounds surprisingly awful to my ears to the point where I don’t even want it for free and question how the developer could release something that sounds that poor. i think I have a few of their paid libraries and they’re much better than what I’m hearing from those demos.
On a related note, someone in this community once thought that the point of the non-toxic forum meant that we’re all supposed to be shiny, happy people (REM reference; not a big fan, but it’s a good line), that was never the point. I want us all to be very honest about our opinions and experiences with sample libraries, plugins, DAWs, etc. I just want an environment where people are civil, and ideally helpful and kind with one another. No sniping, trolling, taunting — you know, mean-spirited stuff. That’s all there is to it. If a forum poiicy or practice censored people from people from sharing negative opinions and experiences — I’ll share more in the future, but part of the issue with Mike Greene’s VI-Control practices is that he censors people who disagree with him, attacks competitors, and using sychopants or proxies to attack people who share bad experiences with his paid advertisers / sponsors (Mike and I have discussed this stuff, and Mike, a former VP Marketing feels his practices are necessary to keep him making money from his business; I completely disagree and that was the biggest part of my motivation for starting LM). So anyone who ever has thought that the non-toxic statement means don’t share negative opinions and experiences with products and services, that is not what it means. Please share your honest opinions and experiences. Sharing negative experiences is AT LEAST as valuable as sharing positive experiences, because people are often afraid to share a negative experience, whereas no one is afraid of sharing a positive experience.
