I can’t post the update notes because this forum won’t let me
How are you trying to post update notes?
Update: I just tried it myself and the post just disappeared.
This would be a clever signature if I could think of one.

I am not sure what is happening but I could post the change log as long as I split it up. I can’t believe this change log is exceeding some limit because I have seen posts much longer than this change log. Looking at you @peter.

That’s exactly what happened to me…it just kept disappearing! I tried pasting
as plain text…nope….nothing worked! Apparently, as you said, it was “too long?”

Now, you’re not tagging me to report something, or are you just making fun of me? I suspect it’s the latter (See how clever us marketing folks can be???). Unfriended!!!*
I need to add something about not making fun of Peter to the forum rules! But what could be the penalty?*
Seriously, @doug, your a developer — I’m a business guy — do you have any idea what could be happening?
* joking.
Your friend who keeps the beat. I suppose I'm also the chef at this place.

Now why would I make fun of @peter :). Danger Will Robinson! The Abyss looms. Assuming that is the penalty for making fun of Peter. Thrown into the abyss that is.
I’ll take a look at this. Maybe tomorrow if I get a chance.

Thanks.
That will give you three free credits to make fun of me without incurung a flogging (yeah, I may be a digital guy, but all LM penalties are old school!).

@peter, @cclarry: I think somebody is trying to mess with my mind. I found what is preventing the Reaper changelog from being posted but it makes no sense. It is not a character limit, nor is it a line limit. You are not going to believe this. If the string select is followed by from anywhere in a post, the post will fail. The only reason why I am able to post this is because I bolded the first letter of select. It is not just select, but selected, selecting, any variation of select really. Go ahead and try it. Type select in a post followed by any number of words and then type from. When that fails, try doing the same thing but bold any letter in select (but not the whole word), and see if you can submit the post. This has got to be one of the most bizarre bugs I have ever run across. I am not even sure where to start looking for a solution.
P.S. selectfrom is fine but selectfrom from is not.

How in the world could that happen? I mean, in the simplest possible way — after all, my expertise is marketing, so it needs to be very, very, very simple; start with trying to explain it to a 5th grader, and then dumb it down a little (now I’ve offended anyone in the marketing profession) — can you explain how a bug like that could even happen?
I’m going to give you 1,000 credits to make fun of me (at one credit each, that means one thousand smart @ss remarks)!

@doug ROFL. I tried to post, but the bug killed it. I will try the bold character fix. Caveat- I don’t do much coding, so I am likely full of beans.
SQL has the command select (columns) from (tablename). If the parser is interpreting SQL commands within the message text, that would be an explanation and also a security hole (SQL injection vulnerability).

@bluescat, that actually makes a lot of sense, and is a good place to start. The submit is probably failing when the post is being inserted into the WordPress database. @peter, if I determine that this is the problem, I’ll try to explain it in layman terms. Why bolding a character fixes the problem is because select is really <b>s</b>elect when it come time to insert the post into the database.
