Slate Digital Now Allows Machine-Based Licenses [not a deal]

This was posted on another forum with the erroneous title “Slate ditches iLok.” That’s not true. If you like the physical iLok key — don’t worry, you can still use it. What Slate Digital has done is no longer require the physical iLok keys (dongle) or an internet connection and instead is allowing machine-based activations. Even more, they’re now giving customers an additional (second) activation, which is very good news. You’ll need to download the updated versions of all of their plugins and third-party plugins to use machine-based activation. Here’s their video, with their V.P. Products explaining all of this. From their statement:

“We’re happy to announce that we will now offer machine-based licenses and two license activations for our entire product line, including free products, perpetual licenses and subscriptions.

Currently, using our products requires either an iLok USB dongle or an active internet connection, both of which can be inconvenient.this update, you’ll no longer be restricted from accessing our products.

Two license activations are now included with:

All Access Pass: Activate to your local machine, iLok Cloud, or an iLok 2/3 USB dongle.
SSL Complete (Complete Access Bundle): Activate to your local machine or an iLok 2/3 USB dongle.
Perpetual “Buy Now” plugins: Activate to your local machine or an iLok 2/3 USB dongle.
We’ve also updated our entire product line with bug fixes and optimizations that will lead to a smoother user experience.”
