      This comes from the website analytics — and another report that focuses on search engine performance — looking at the last 28 days of activity on the site.

      WEBSITE ANALYTICS RESULTS

      – New Visitors are up 18%

      – Avg. Visit Length is Up Slightly (3%) at 6 min

      – Avg. Pages Viewed is Up Slightly (2%)

      SEARCH PERFORMANCE

      –  We’re now high on page two of Google (in the US) for searches for “free kontakt instruments” and “free kontakt libraries” and seeing our rank increasing over the months. – We’re increasingly being mentioned in AI with music producer forums.

      The downside. Engagement is very low. This is a major factor impacting search engine rankings and AI presence for assessing an online community. It’s also a major factor when it comes to converting lurkers to members (the percentage/number of people joining the site). In short, our lack of interaction is tanking our growth. Interaction is the lifeblood of every online community.

      I welcome your thoughts on how to make this site more engaging for you. I’m considering adding (okay, re-adding, because the site originally had this) forums for SONGWRITING / COMPOSING,  MUSIC PRODUCTION / POST PRODUCTION, and MUSIC THEORY and adding a section for feedback on music that we’re working on where we can ask for feedback and advice on a mix, a song/composition that we’re working on, etc. I realize that deals are an important part of the site, but I want to take this community far beyond deals. I originally looked at the deals aspect of the site as something cclarry and the community could handle while I focused on other content. Since cclarry’s departure, I have had to spend so much time on deals posting that I have not been able to focus on my plans for this site that frankly, mean much more to me than deals.

        I agree.

        Wish there was more, a LOT more, interaction.

          From the stats, people are looking at the deals, but people aren’t commenting.

            @peter

            I just looked at the stats, and for some reason I have yet to determine, visits to the site have spiked today. Today is literally the highest amount of visitors the site has ever had. I just glanced at a graph and didn’t look deeper, but I’m sure that’s from social media, search, or AI, and not our registered users, because it looks like it’s A LOT more visits than we have registered users (we’re still in the hundreds of registered users). But again, with the lack of interaction at the site, it’s guaranteed that 99% or more of those visitors (lurkers) won’t register. I could do an email newsletter — which I wanted to do before I took over posting deals — but I simply don’t have the time.  If I stop posting deals, I’ll continue with the site, and if other people start posting deals, I promise to continue forward with the community, but at this moment, I need to seriously reassess this passion project and the cost and resources it requires, because it’s simply not sustainable as is (that is, me posting deals; with the time it takes and my tendinitis).

              @peter

              I know some of our members are familiar with website analytics. I’m using Google Analytics on the site, and looking at the past 28 days report as a default each day and I just looked at the latest 28 days and now it’s up by 26.4% over the previous 28 days.  So we’re finally seeing some decent growth. But our conversion rate is still not in the realm of desirable. That said as I see people are commenting and posting more, so that it’s not just a sea of posts form me, I bet that rate will tick up a little. But the increase in traffic is really encouraging.

                I was just looking at the website analytics report for the  last 7 days, and there have been significant traffic increases and visit length (which was already high).

                Avg. Visit length: 7m 26s / Up 36.9%

                Total visits: Up 36.9%

                New visitors  Up 39.6%

                So all of that is great news. The other good news is that there’s been a pick-up in people posting. I greatly appreciate that, especially as my wrists are now burning in pain from tendinitis from using the computer so much.  Consequently, I’m going to be taking a break. Thank you to everyone who has been posting; it’s appreciated.
