One quirk though, after buying this, the downloads for the presets are managed by PB, and some pack might be missing, for example I’m missing the last pack: Hits DNA 2, which is not included in PB zip file.

I’ve sent a message to FAW support to get the packs into my account to solve the “future packs access” of the equation.

Hope everything would be smooth. They responded very fast with a Sublab XL issue and sent me a version that fixed the issue and registered the Sublab license into my account. Probably this pack will get linked into my account as well and will get access to all future packs like advertised on PB.

No. They won’t register it into my account cause the pack “is not a serial number”.

And the PB zip is missing the last pack. Probably in the future will be the same thing.

I called it false advertising and messaged PB about this.

This post was only about the bundle offering current + all future Sublab XL present packs. To be honest, there are some regulations and laws, specially in EU where I live, that are saying that you as a seller need to provide what is actually sold to the customer in the description of the product sold. Otherwise you could be fined for false advertising. Just saying.

And btw, the packs are dope. Still great value, but there’s this twist about a company that doesn’t keep promises, that makes me not buy ever again from them, because I won’t ever know what I will receive, if there’s something els in the pack received vs the description. Sorry.

PS I was thinking to get the Sublab pack, as well as the Circle2, even if they’re not at their lowest price, as a “thank you” for being a great company, but. I’ve changed my mind. Sorry.

Is there actually any evidence that Plugin Boutique won’t provide the future preset packs? There might be just a delay between a preset pack release and PB updating their download links.

You’re right, Pseudopop. There’s none at this point. Maybe it’s just a delay, and maybe I over-reacted, or maybe I’ll just receive the packs published in PB in the future and not those published in FAW platform.

That being said, the pack is still great and has a good price for the money imho, just that quirky description vs what’s in the zip file.

It’s good of you to act, though. Bad marketing is bad marketing and like you said, within EU you can get into murky waters by lying to the consumer (as you should).

Hope PB comes through.

(I also think that if devs officially sell through other platforms, they should also show interest in how that instance deals with their stuff.)

Oh, joy… Plugin Boutique support sent me a coupon to get the missing pack.

Sublab Hits DNA 2.

But that’s the Sublab pack, not the Sublab XL pack. 😄

FAW should better name their products better for others to understand that the Sublab Hit DNA 2, is actually a very different pack than Sublab XL Hits DNA2. 😆 Different pack, different presets, addressed to Sublab XL, not Sublab. 😄

Looks like the Sublab XL Hits DNA DNA 2 only exists in FAW website. Plugin Boutique doesn’t even have it published.

Which makes me think again, that with this pack, you’ll get only the packs that are published in Plugin Boutique. If FAW won’t sell in the future in PB, then this deal is still false advertising. They should have generated a code to get this for free in FAW website and all this non-sense would not exist. 😉

Yeah, this approach seems really odd, enough for me to have friction and say, “Nah, I don’t want it.”

Having proof of purchase from PB should be enough for FAW to add it to your account on their website.

@tianzii check your PB account. I just checked mine and found that there is a new version of the pack bundle, ver. 11 which includes the Hits DNA II subxlpack.

This would be a clever signature if I could think of one.

I’m quite certain you played a part in PB getting the update out, so outstanding work Tianzii!

Thanks @Kirean, I didn’t wanted to make a fuss about this, but to me FAW it looked like a promising company.

At the same time, I’m probably the one that made them change their minds in the marketing offerings as well: FAW sold the bundles as “all existing and future packs”, and now they are selling them as “all existing only packs” bundles. But still they wrote “re-up” word that tricks your mind into being the same offering, while it is not.

IMHO, they had a great marketing, and a great shot with their offerings, and then they became greedy.

This is exactly why I won’t buy the other packs or Circle2. Still, Sublab it’s insanely good. Nothing to complain about the product.

IMHO, between these or other BF deals, I’m better with ANA2 or a SonicAcademy Course or Subscription.

That’s actually kinda lame that they changed the text. If one bought it before they did that change, they’d better honor the original copy because otherwise it’s a pure bait and switch. Plugin Boutique better keep their end of that deal as well.

I still don’t understand why (smaller) companies fight to do the right thing when doing the right thing is simply more beneficial. Good word of mouth goes a far way when there’s n+1 new products released every week at various places, at various prices. And why oh why, do they not communicate with their customers and build trust? Doesn’t take much. Simply “Hey, we’ll have to change how the expansion bundle works going forward due to realities of the business. But anyone who already got it, will of course get the deal they paid for.” No goddamn chatgpt required.

Oh man, I’m totally lost. I’ve mixed the Sublab XL pack bundle with the Sublab Bundle.

There are no changes in wordings. Apparently the “every available and future” is only for Sublab XL presets bundle, but not for the Sublab presets bundle. That is so confusing.

My oh my, my bad. 🫣

I think I have to give my apologies to FAW. 😬

@nishyp The $10 deal was on Plugin Boutique, not on FAW. On FAW website it was always fully priced at $50, and now the XL pack is at $20.

So $20 for the bundle pack to have it on FAW website without having to wait for the PB sync, is still a great deal IMHO, but without PB and their $10 deal for Sublab and $10 deal to upgrade to Sublab XL, I would even know about FAW. So, the $10 deal was still great on PB. 🙂
