The Site is Being Tweaked This Week

I have a Linux technician and two developers who will be working on the site this weekend. I’ve temporarily taken down some of the enhancements to the Groups / social walls as they had issues with some of the new features I’ve added based on requests. The reality is that when you add new scripts — and we know have a very large amount — they can conflict with existing scripts. This is why it’s best to use a minimal amount of plugins on a site and to thoroughly test them before taking them live. This is why, I am happy to report, that I know have a staging site set up so I will no longer be doing testing on the live site. However, the developers and technician will be working on the live site during the next week to take care of some issues and in preparation for the site to go live in mid-October.

I had some great news yesterday. LinkedMusicians is now indexed and can be found in Google at the top of results for “linkedmusicians” and “linked musicians.” I’m targeting various descriptive keywords, and doing so will create more awareness of the community, hopefully, leading to more registrations once public registration opens up in October.

Next week I will be the registration system, system emails and an email update. These are the final steps before opening the site up to public registration. In the meantime, you can still feel free to tell your friends to send me an email at linkedmusicians AT gmail dot com and I will get them registered.
