            @peter

            I placed my order but probably won’t have a chance to try this out this weekend. Anyone try it out yet?

            Check out my music.

              Be thankful, I had to pay to use this forum! 🙂

              To hear some of the music I’ve recently recorded: https://soundcloud.com/user-345532605?utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

              Dear Peter, good morning!

              Where is the Thank You reaction thingie?

              I might be the filthiest hobo but you bet your life I am a grateful person X)

              (Sorry I’ve been away, my PC suffered from electrical storms, idk exactly what). After several days I finally could fix it, PRO TIP: Just remove the BIOS battery, wait a little bit, connect it to power again, wait a little bit after turning it on, voila: recover PC/Windows dialog will show up (oh and the PC case fans finally turned on! yipeeeee!)

              It wasn’t the PSU, GPU, CPU, et al at all! Thank god!!!

              Oh, I am sure the Reverb sounds just fine, I was interested in it because it has DUCKING, probably the most important thing about a Reverb, and no one adds it to their plugin.

              Also I found out the truth about life (Music related I swear), and one of the things about it: so many lies are fed to us is enraging, but… don’t want to deviate: any Reverb or plugin will do just fine, what makes something sound good or not is the PLAYBACK quality of a DAC+components and the source.

              I finally confirmed it after probably 17 YEARS of not knowing wth was going on that I wasn’t enjoying the output of anything, and be pretty sure I LOVE MUSIC.

              And if I am allowed, uff, will keep it short: Schiit’s Modius DAC is the most awesome DAC I have heard in my life. Paired with a Liquid Platinum headphone amp, and the HD800s headphones or Hifiman Edition XS is a BLISS.

              It sounds as the most EXPENSIVE converters I have NEVER heard because I didn’t have the money to test them. Now I don’t need to. Thank god.

              For reference check: I have an Apollo X8 and an ADI-2 Dac Fs (RME). They don’t come close!

              Also I mentioned the source is very important: MAC and PC sound different. MAC sounds better. SPDIF optical sounds better than USB. Maybe it is just the electrical components of each that I have. But in my MAC everything sounds fuller and lush, on the PC kind of lean and shrill (but thanks to the Modius I can enjoy at 50% my videogames sound: Same game on a MAC VS PC: League of Legends: On PC I turn the sound way down because of my reasons above. On my MAC: I dnjoy all sound FX and explosions and voices and what not to the FULLEST!!!).

              Do I win longest a$& post, Peter? Just kidding ofc’

              Just happy I am back in the game, and I have regained lots of health hence energy to enjoy life.

                @lastcall Two things,

                (1) You’re apologizing for going off topic or long at the forum I started???? And you think you can beat me for longest post? I am to long posts what cclarry is to deals. Haha!!! No further comment…

                (2) I did notice you were gone and definitely missed having you around. It really is nice to see you back. I don’t know if it’s easy to figure out, but I’ve made a lot of improvements and tweaks to the forum in the last several days and consider it complete and ready for when the site has its public launch. I’m now focused on the GROUPS /social walls where I just added a bunch of new functionality — check it out, do a post even to just say hi and try out posting a gif or something. I have a trouble ticket in with the developer and the editing capability and reactions are not in use at the moment, but they’ll return — and be upgraded sometime this week. The site is getting really close to being ready for public registration. There’s a poll in the Early Adopters Group and after you’ve tried things out, I’d love to get your honest feedback and how you think it’s going.

                Check out my music.

                  (EDIT: I spoke too soon, sad face, even though it doesn’t sound that bad as before with the new PSU, still doesn’t come close to my Mac+Apollo+Modius DAC combo, I don’t know why this has been forever, idk what makes it sound different and one better, if I am using the same on DAC. Have tried different DACS, I reach the same conclusion: Mac for music making is the best.
                  Good thing is still that I don’t wanna cry anymore everytime I hear stuff from my PC with the new PSU. Youtube still sucks, but not as bad (not so much on my MAC.
                  I can tell all of this because I use the same songs, like a 100 songs, believe it or not, to do comparisons).

                  Been reading the wall thingy, very cool and great idea I think, Peter.

                  Something weird happened to me in my PC ordeal, that I wanted to add because even if my post falls on deaf ears, I have to be clear about something:

                  IDK what happened when my PC broke, but the playback output now to me doesn’t sound THAT different from my MAC (I use the SPDIF output of my Apollo X8 into my Modius DAC), again, BUT this time it doesn’t thin or harsh at all! I still bet my life on it that it does sound different, but just that, different, not worse or better. SO FAR.

                  Different things happened when I tried repairing my PC: I bought a new PSU, a 750 Watts one, Corsair.

                  I disabled/enabled stuff in the Bios because I wanted (without success) to enable my other M2 Nvme port.
                  I don’t have a clue what I did exactly and what really does within the system (even though I followed some youtube/web tutorials, quick guides).

                  WINDOWS clean install, and without bloatware.

                  IDK what “FIXED” the sound, but I finally, again, enjoy the sound of my PC (and videogames and music ofc).

                  I had to be clear about this, as I don’t want to spread misinformation.

                  What I can tell you is that changing to MAC, has been a blessing because EVERYTHING just works.
                  (I just watched a Linus Tech Tips where they were fighting the PC about HDR stuff… THEY JUST REINSTALLED WINDOWS, IT WAS WAY EASIER AND LESS TIME CONSUMING).

                  That’s just a small taste of what PCs mean to me.
                  If it wasn’t for the fact I love videogames… (because no console comes near a very nice PC at all!).

                  Leave you with my Motto: LIVE LIFE (and enjoy the love you receive/give because there is not a second chance. That’s just a little part of the philosophy of why I chose this nickname).
