@mustakatu, thank you. I know, I’m glitching lately.

For everyone else who doesn’t know, mustakatu not only gives me great advice on the site, he fixes my mistakes on the site, and unfortunately, that’s given him a lot to do lately. I’m trying not to post about my tendinitis causing me pain (because, after all, doesn’t everyone love old guys complaining???), but I think it has impacted my quality control. My fingers are burning right now, literally, with pain. And as a result, I suppose I’m a lot less focused on getting posts right. Okay, that sounds like a sob story and excuse, and I hate that. Instead, it’s just another overshare.

@peter, all good and appreciated. Personally, I’m already counting days until the actual BF day: not to see the bestest prices, but for this dealstorm to stop. And honestly I’m more afraid than excited about Cyberweek and the Christmas season. Just waiting for a couple of specific devs to start their BFs, literally defending my wallet for them. Too many, too fast. You can actually build your entire production setup based exclusively on the freebies released during this BF, that’s crazy.

It is a really interesting year when you look at what’s going on in this industry. Granted, it’s a continuation of what started last year with more developers deep discounting, but even more than last year, they started earlier than ever, in September with crazy deep discounting, that as a marketer, I don’t think was good for their brands long term, as a lot of consumers will now see that as the real value of their plugins and sample libraries. But developers are feeling the competitive pressures to deep discount and get ahead of their competitors in doing so.
