Waverunner Audio “Renascere Solo Cello for Kontakt £35 (reg. £45)

NOTE: I’ve mentioned and recommended this indie Kontakt developer in the past. I own several of his libraries. They’re not “deep-sampled” — okay, I kind of loathe that term, it’s such an incredibly hyped up kind of phrase (I actually collaborated with Greg of Orange Tree Samples on the script and ideas for “Epic Cowbell, an ultra-mega, deep-sampled cowbell library with something like 873,492 samples.” It was my poking fun at Kontakt developers, some of them I am very fond of. But that phrase! (Spoiler: I am friends with the folks who, I’m pretty sure, came up with the phrase!)

Instead, I say/write “detailed samples” or “detailed sampling.” Maybe it’s time to give in, as we probably did that video a decade ago, and a lot more developers are using the deep-sampled phrase. But there is a beauty about them that I can’t describe. They seem to have found favor with some well-known film and TV composers, and the developer himself is a film and TV composer out of the UK. I haven’t bought this yet, but my experience with every Waverunner library is that they’re really inspiring, at least that is my experience. I realize that’s completely subjective. I sent the developer a note — I’ve never interacted with him. I’ve bought his libraries and that’s all. No problems in maybe 4 years since I’ve been a customer.
