Maybe you’re just fiddling around. Maybe you’re mixing or remixing something. Maybe it’s a commissioned project. Maybe it’s an original song or a cover for your personal enjoyment. Maybe it’s a score for a trailer, an indie movie, or a video game. Maybe it’s a collaboration. Maybe you’re busking or playing live shows and practicing. Maybe you’re doing something for a recital or a competition. Whatever it is, tell us about it!
As for me, I’m working on an old song of mine from my working musician days. It’s hard to believe how long it’s been and redoing my own song brings back memories of times, places, musicians I worked with, and family members long gone.

I’m currently transcribing the Mission: Impossible theme for my classical guitar ensemble class. I’m having a hard time getting the feel of urgency that the original version has due to the inherent sweetness if the classical guitar. It was probably a bad choice for music but I heard all those parts weaving in/out and thought it would be fun to play. Which it is. It just doesn’t pay homage to the original intent very well.
I’m also preparing or a live gig at the Keller Art Walk in TX this weekend with my bluegrass band.

Hi. I am working on vocals for a new Citizen Regen song (with Ed/Bapu). When finished with those, I’ll record some acoustic guitars for the song.
I’m also working on a couple of my own songs, one of them being the heaviest song I’ve ever made (at 54 yrs of age). I’m even playing drums on those 2 songs, which the 1st time I’ve done on my own songs.
All the best.

@zargg I just listened to the new song and thought you guys did a great job! I urge everyone to check it out! These guys play and sing at a very high level and recently earned praise from Warren Huart.

Check out my music.
Thank you very much for the positive feedback and sharing, Peter.
All the best.

I’m working on a song I wrote in the 1980s that I’m playing with a very 80s style to amuse and hopefully entertain my wife and daughter (she also loves 80s music; although she is most of all a fan of the alternative rock that I played a lot of when she was little — Radiohead, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, The Posies and more recent alt rockers like Nothing But Thieves). What I like best about it is that because it’s original, my voice sounds much better than when I’m doing a cover and everyone will compare my voice to the original singer and notice any notes I didn’t get right! With my originals, as long as it’s in key, no one knows if I hit the right note or not!
It’s a pretty catchy pop (from that era) type song. More along the lines of the Psychedelic Furs, Echo and the Bunnyman, The The… So it’s more of a style that my wife enjoyed as opposed to the alt-rock which was my original band’s style. So yeah, a lot of what I work is really just targeted at my family and a few friends who seem to get a kick out of it. I just want them to hear stuff I wrote back when. I suppose it’s pure nostalgia for me. If they like a song I wrote — which has happened! — I feel that it’s a win. These are my musical goals. They’re significantly more modest goals than when I was a real musician performing in front of audiences, but I still have the same very strong desire to play music that I’ve had since I was a toddler playing on the toy drum set my grandmother got me! FTR, when I was in my 20s and my niece/godchild told me that she wanted a drum kit to play drums just like me — I was kind to her mom and bought her an electronic drum kit!
