I spend wayyy too much time sitting here.
3 CommentsIt’s actually Kontakt so it probably would have passed, but who knows? I’ll be honest, I have no idea what Cakewalk/Bandlab apps even look like. I’ve only used Logic, Luna and one or two others ever since I started. I was a member on the other forum for the discussions, that’s it. I’m sure there were a lot of us like that too. I think the…Read More

Just wanted to say everything is looking great Peter really nice work. Appreciate your time investment. Wondering if it makes sense on the deals forum (or forum topics in general) to have a filter/sort options like sort by: “most recent, most replies, etc.” other things like that. I am on my phone so it may already be right under my nose som…Read More

The new Groups format is much better. Filtering out the “joe.blow has joined the group” makes it much more usable,
1 CommentThanks for the feedback. My take was that I enjoy seeing when new people join, but the notices were just way too big and I couldn’t find a way to reduce the size, so they’re gone now. Don’t ever hesitate to share your thoughts if you think there’s some functionality that you really enjoy, or other functionality you think isn’t really adding value.…Read More

@peter I am still getting my feet wet but the overall design and layout looks very nice and clean. Overall I think things are off to a great start.

LinkedMusicians is getting better all the time. It will become the site to rule them all.
Thanks to Peter and Larsy!2 CommentsHey, this is perfect for a forum section I plan on creating this week that I think people will love. It’s going to feature links to video tutorials we recommend, films (documentaries, mock documentaries, dramatic and comedic movies related to music), concert viideos, etc. What do you think? Would you want to see that section? We really need to get…Read More

While I know that Rick Beato is not everyone’s “cup of tea”, I think he may be starting a new series for “discovering” artists. He did this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-HClpltznw) and as a result sent a LOT of people to her YouTube channel. Great listen
3 CommentsI like Beato as well, I’ve actually learned a lot watching what makes this song great. Good entertainment🤘

8 CommentsWait, you don’t like Queen? Unfriended!
I kid, I kid. But Queen was awesome.
I became a Rush fan in HS and stayed one since.
I don’t know what it is with Queen, but I don’t really enjoy listening to their music for fun and pleasure. Strange, but that’s me.
Back in the day, REO Speedwagon and, for the most part, Van Halen. These bands were really popular when I was in HS. Add Kiss to the list a little earlier. Just plain terrible, IMO. I still won’t forget the day my closest cousin — who was like a brother — told me at around age 13, that he decided that Kiss was a better band than Zeppelin.…Read More
1, Hole: for some reason everyone was crazy about Hole and I just couldn’t get into it.
Their 1st Disk: Pretty on the Inside: was just awful even thought it was produced by Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth (a band I love)
And then the 2nd Disk: Live Though This: Came out and everyone went crazy for that, and I still didn’t like the band.
But when the 3rd…Read MoreI would side with you regarding Hole and Boston. While I always liked Boston, I think I took Brad Delp’s voice for granted and didn’t even realize how good his vocals were on those classic albums until many years later. Now, Longtime is playing in my head. That was huge when I was a kid, and I loved it and still do. I suppose this is driving me to…Read More

Getting used to how things work around here 😊, great work Peter, really awesome all you’re doing.
One thing… previously i was able to see new post signaled as new posts, but that mark is now gone, dont know if its something with my profile or if there were some changes in that regard?
2 CommentsAre you referring to the Groups or Forums? If you lost functionality in the Groups, it’s because I just took away a major plugin used on the site that had problems since the last theme update
to allow the developer to troubleshoot.

I think I managed to get myself banned over on the CW forum for trying to link this and the reddit site and trying to pass on the good vibes for this site. I’ve never seen LITERALLY years of good will and positive PR get flushed so quickly. I think of myself as a pretty fair minded and even decent guy. But f’em. Really.
1 CommentYou monster, you just got around my ingenious swear filter! Banned! Remember to remind me to ban you later. I’ve got the site to work on at the moment.
That’s sarcasm, of course. It’s a really weird, petty ego thing that a software QC employee promoted from customer support — which is funny, because the guy has zero people skills — has a…Read More

Hi, familiar faces! Looking forward to some great discussions and Larry’s deals!
1 CommentI knew when I said to @cclarry , if I start a new music-making social media site with a forum — basically Facebook for musicians with a forum, would you come with and do your thing? And Larry said he was on board that this place would be special and work.
Now, it’s early on, we only have around 50 registrants — which if fine by me — but…Read More

I actually just sold my ’66 Strat and ’69 LP Deluxe this Summer because they were stupid valuable and I would have to climb out of my grave if my kids sold them at an estate sale for a pittance.
I still have:
90’s Gibson Tennessean (favorite- sounds like a 335)
90’s Takamine Classical (favorite) and easiest to play with arthritis

My brother had a red one when I was a kid, and the first rock album I bought at 5 years old was Led Zeppelin III, which I still love. Jimmy Page cemented my love for the Les Paul. But I’m sure if I played guitar instead of drums that my back might not have agreed with the Les Paul choice.

Sometimes I just need to break away from Citizen Regen and do some collabs where I can contribute a bass track (or baking vocals that will just below the surface). Originals or covers are both cool.
Personal preference is where a cover is a ‘different” interpretation of the original.
1 CommentThat’s awesome.
I recently wrote a power pop rock song (okay, I wrote most of it and need to finish it) I think is pretty good. I hope to record it and share it here later this month offering anyone who wants to replace my guitar, bass, keyboards or vocals with theirs to do so. I figure that way, people can hear the song first and decide if it’s…Read More

Very nice setup! I also can’t help but notice that a bunch of us are Rush fans. It seems to be one of our common threads. Plus — not me personally — but I think a lot of folks in the group are guitarists first and foremost.
