Thanks for the feedback. My take was that I enjoy seeing when new people join, but the notices were just way too big and I couldn’t find a way to reduce the size, so they’re gone now. Don’t ever hesitate to share your thoughts if you think there’s some functionality that you really enjoy, or other functionality you think isn’t really adding value.…Read More

Awwww, thanks Fleer. While I’ve been working on this site, Larry never missed a beat, posting as prolifically as he always has done in the past. Although now he just has friends around and not some weird, obsessed censor.

Are you referring to the Groups or Forums? If you lost functionality in the Groups, it’s because I just took away a major plugin used on the site that had problems since the last theme update
to allow the developer to troubleshoot.-
Oh i see but i was talking about deals forum, the latest new posts did not appear signaled as new posts.

I think I managed to get myself banned over on the CW forum for trying to link this and the reddit site and trying to pass on the good vibes for this site. I’ve never seen LITERALLY years of good will and positive PR get flushed so quickly. I think of myself as a pretty fair minded and even decent guy. But f’em. Really.

I actually just sold my ’66 Strat and ’69 LP Deluxe this Summer because they were stupid valuable and I would have to climb out of my grave if my kids sold them at an estate sale for a pittance.
I still have:
90’s Gibson Tennessean (favorite- sounds like a 335)
90’s Takamine Classical (favorite) and easiest to play with arthritis

If I could play, I’d definitely want a Les Paul. My brother had a red one when I was a kid, and the first rock album I bought at 5 years old was Led Zeppelin III, which I still love. Jimmy Page cemented my love for the Les Paul. But I’m sure if I played guitar instead of drums that my back might not have agreed with the Les Paul choice.

LP was more fun to play. The Strat (at least mine) had real intonation problems that frustrated me. The LP was more playable (fretless wonder ™) BUT between the two you have the tone of that era covered pretty well.

Sometimes I just need to break away from Citizen Regen and do some collabs where I can contribute a bass track (or baking vocals that will just below the surface). Originals or covers are both cool.
Personal preference is where a cover is a ‘different” interpretation of the original.
