Wait, you don’t like Queen? Unfriended!

I kid, I kid. But Queen was awesome.

I became a Rush fan in HS and stayed one since.

I don’t know what it is with Queen, but I don’t really enjoy listening to their music for fun and pleasure. Strange, but that’s me.

Music is art. It’s subjective. I was just having a little fun with you and even more fun with Kiss fans. My tastes are pretty wide. My kids were shocked that I like some Rhianna and country songs and kid me about me.

Back in the day, REO Speedwagon and, for the most part, Van Halen. These bands were really popular when I was in HS. Add Kiss to the list a little earlier. Just plain terrible, IMO. I still won’t forget the day my closest cousin — who was like a brother — told me at around age 13, that he decided that Kiss was a better band than Zeppelin. Insanity!!! Kiss isn’t even a better band than Nickelback.

Most of my prog rock favorites were never popular with my friend group. And my wife and kids don’t share my love of Zeppelin. prog rock era Yes, Rush, or most of my prog rock favorites.

Yes, Peter made a controversial post. Blood has been drawn!

1, Hole: for some reason everyone was crazy about Hole and I just couldn’t get into it.
Their 1st Disk: Pretty on the Inside: was just awful even thought it was produced by Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth (a band I love)
And then the 2nd Disk: Live Though This: Came out and everyone went crazy for that, and I still didn’t like the band.
But when the 3rd Disk: Celebrity Skin: was released I thought okay someday I’ll sit down and give it a serious listen.
So last year I did just that and I gotta say I misjudged the band.
Eric Erlandson is a killer guitar player, Patty Schemel is a monster drummer (but Celebrity Skin had a hired drummer for some reason)
Kristen Pfaff was a great Bass player RIP (Live Through This) and then the 2nd Bass player Melissa Auf der Maur (Celebrity Skin} was also a great player.
So to make a short story long, say what you want about Courtney Love she knows how to put a great band together.

2, Boston: All my friends hated Boston and I never understood why, I thought they were great the 1st time I heard them.
The 1st album cover was so cool, and Tom Scholz recorded it in his basement and it sounded so good even by today’s standards it still holds up.

I would side with you regarding Hole and Boston. While I always liked Boston, I think I took Brad Delp’s voice for granted and didn’t even realize how good his vocals were on those classic albums until many years later. Now, Longtime is playing in my head. That was huge when I was a kid, and I loved it and still do. I suppose this is driving me to listen to it today. So thanks for the reminder.

      CCR.
Never liked what John Fogerty and the others were up to.
Guess I’m not really into rock.
