My yearly update plan just now expired (apparently I got it during last year’s BF sale). I’ve been generally happy with the updates so far, except the last one seemed to be mostly geared toward beat makers (I think). So, I’m thinking of treating this like I do with NI – only pay for the update and get caught up every 2 years or so. This should work, right? I can still update later even if I skip a few years?

They’re offering me $149 for another year of updates, but it’s cheaper just to buy a new license outright with the deal above. I could always fall back to that if I need to. So, I think I’m good to just wait it out and see what updates come along.

But, I can vouch that Studio One is a great, great DAW.
