📢 LM Reaches 20K+ Visitors, Upcoming Anniversary Giveaway

We’re now approaching the one-year anniversary of LinkedMusicians. We recently hit a milestone of 20,000 monthly unique visitors, reflecting a strong interest in an independent, open, non-toxic, and direct environment that promotes honest dialogue.

I’ve been spending this week getting things ready for the anniversary, and I wanted to put this on your radar:

Anniversary Giveaway

I’m currently working on a giveaway in the Deals Forum, tentatively scheduled for early next week. I’m reaching out to a select group of top-tier developers to secure a few specific products for the anniversary. If you want to participate, make sure you are subscribed to the Deals Forum so you see the thread when it goes live. All you’ll need to do is comment in a thread, which means if you’re reading this and not a registered member of LinkedMusicians, now is the perfect time to join us.

A Personal Note

I am also finishing a blog post for this weekend where I’ll be sharing more about the background of this passion project. That includes the transition from the pseudonym I used as a musician, Peter Woods—the surname my mother played under as a musician before shifting to music instructor while raising her children. I chose it after first playing professionally at 18 and finding that virtually no one who introduced me publicly could pronounce my last name correctly —which everyone here is now also welcome to mispronounce: DeLegge! (That’s perfectly fine, btw.)

Thanks to everyone who has been part of this first year and our beta team (we called the Early Adopters, even though, in truth, everyone here this first year since our public release is an early adopter) who have been here since late 2024.

Thanks, guys. I was responsible for building the site initially, but it has been the incredibly talented developer and member @lamia6 who has taken things to the next level. She has been incredibly important to this site. She’s written code that gave us new features, diagnosed and fixed design and coding issues, and improved various areas of performance and security. The whole LinkedMusicians passion project is about community, about our love and appreciation for music, our values of how to treat one another, ethics on how businesses should operate and transparency.

It’s the latter, transparency, that made me decide to share my real name. I will be very transparent that my hesitation to share my real name was related to my experiencing online harassment and threats. So this was, by no means an easy decision. I felt it was necessary for the growth of this site and for partnerships and I also realize, that it can appear a bit ironic that I’m very focused on transparency when using my pseudonym from my musician days. While my pseudonym has a great deal of history for me personally and my family, not using my real last name could easily make this project look less serious than it is. It was while working on the plan to assemble a LinkedMusicians advisory board with artists, educators/academia, and developers that I made that decision.

LinkedMusicians is largely a blank canvas. This is a robust social media platform that enables us to grow and accomplish a great deal and we’ve only scratched the surface. The biggest limitation has been the time I have to commit to it, which has been far too tied to posting deals (there’s technological progress coming on that front that will improve on what I’ve been doing and free up my time to focus on more strategic things).

The objective remains to continue developing the site and the community a non-toxic environment and a welcoming community where music creators of all experience levels and genres can learn and grow musically, and regardless of income level, find vetted, high-quality tools that inspire them. We’ve only just started on this journey.

I should have mentioned this earlier, but one of the most requested features that our members have asked for was a Daily Digest email. One email per day that features the deals posted that day (well, most of them, as I think it caps at 15 or so topics). Once again, this is another feature that was custom developed by our own @Lamia6.

It takes around 20-30 seconds to set it up and you can subscribe to any other forum Daily Digest email too:

1. Click on settings in the top right menu.
2. Click on your Account Settings in the middle of the screen.
3. Click the link for the Forum Digest.
4. Select any Forum Daily Digests you want to receive.

Great news. Two well respected companies there. I have a fair bit of IK stuff from buying one of their Max suites when it was on offer. I don’t have any Orange Tree samples I have read good things about them. Are the libraries shown the ones that will be in the giveaway?
