        These are pretty good prices. I’m tempted.

        If you’re planning to buy multiple expansions, I still recommend the Don’t Crack store, which gives you up to a 20% discount if you have enough items (five, I think) in your cart.

          @pseudopop So, clearly, you’re a BFD3 user. BFD has had a challenging history with a good deal of software problems. How have things been lately?

          BFD3 has now been out for 13 years. I had strongly considered buying it years ago, but was talked out of it by a friend who was once a big fan but experienced months of software issues that were common for Windows users. He eventually uninstalled it and won’t touch it anymore after the bad experience. I bought BFD Eco ages ago but never installed it after a terrible experience with the InMusic installer on my son’s PC where I ended up having to reinstall Windows due to the nightmare InMusic installer. I only found out afterwards that InMusic had known about these issues for several months — they were reported on their official forum. After I reported the issues my son’s PC experienced on the InMusic / AIR forum, a support employee acknowledged the problem, but it was several more months before they were resolved. That left such a bad taste in my mouth that I never bit on offers like this. However, I suspect that with SD3 as my go to and AD2 as my second choice, that BFD3 may be too big of a step backwards. But for less than the price of EZX, this is very tempting. I’d love to get your thoughts.

            I haven’t really used BFD that much. I just collect drums the way my plugins collect dust.

            Their authentication system is annoying and finicky, but I haven’t run into a situation that logging out and back in wouldn’t resolve. Certainly nothing that would’ve required a reinstall.

            The sound of the BFD expansions that I have is a bit in-your-face, sometimes too much so. The kits don’t seem to follow the default MIDI mapping, which adds friction when auditioning sounds. The GUI could use an overhaul but if you dig around long enough you learn where everything is, and it allows me to do what I need to do with regards to tuning the drums, adjusting bleed and routing the mics.

            So far Superior Drummer has covered my needs and feels more user-friendly, but I’m tempted by the cheap prices and I like to have options. Also, GAS.

              @cookiejarvis

              I’ve been a BFD user for years and have never had trouble. To be fair I held off on moving from FXPansion to InMusic for quite a while so I probably skipped any issues during the change of ownership. I just picked up Marching Drums for $14….actually for about .34, I had some credit left at PB 😉

              The only time I use something other than BFD is for special circumstances, for instance using 8Dio The New Toms Ensemble. I’m happy with the sound and the adjustments you can make in the Mixer. I prefer BFD2’s interface though, I’m not big on cartoony unicorn GUI’s 😉 I do have both installed and use BFD2 from time to time. I also have Addictive Drums, EZ Drummer, etc. but they don’t get any use!

                I’ve never had issues with BFD3 and don’t hesitate to recommend them.
