Piano in Blue is the one library in Musio I have deep disappointment with. It really shouldn’t even be called Piano in Blue, because without the effects chain to get that sound, it just sounds like a very lovely sampled grand piano, but it has no resemblance to the Kontakt Piano in Blue demos that do a great job of mimicking the sound of Miles Davis’ great album “Kind of Blue.” (My kids have known that album since they were toddlers).

I did contact Musio and one of their employees recommended I attempt to achieve that tone with the XLN RC-20, which I own and tried to do, but it wasn’t even close. I think I’m going to reach out to the developer that Cinesamples sold it to and ask if he’s open to doing a cross-sale offer on it. I don’t see much mention of the library anywhere these days, and he’s not doing anything I can see to promote it, so he may like the idea. Otherwise, if anyone has any recommendations on effects I can use to achieve that sound, I am open to it. I tried pre-amps, compressors, various effects like RC-20, but I really don’t have the skills to nail that beautiful sound I love so much.

I was lucky getting the original Piano in Blue for Kontakt before it was gone. Still pleased to also have it in Musio, though.
