Hello,
I’ve recently released a new cinematic percussion instrument for Decent Sampler called Doomsday Drums, and I wanted to share it with you in case it’s a good fit for your site.
Doomsday Drums is designed for dark, cinematic scoring, focusing on deep, organic low-end percussion rather than aggressive trailer hits. It’s available in two editions:
PRO (5€)
• 8 drum sounds
• 65 controls
ESSENTIALS (Free)
• 3 drum sounds
• 18 controls

Background:
While working on my first professional feature film, I realized I lacked suitable low-end percussion libraries for cinematic scoring. I began recording floor toms at a very high sample rate (192 kHz), allowing the drums to be pitched down and slowed significantly without losing audio quality.
Instead of traditional wooden sticks, I used soft felt mallets to achieve a smoother, more rounded tone that blends naturally into cinematic textures. The samples are intentionally kept raw, allowing clean pitch-shifting up to two octaves.
For heavier results, compression, saturation, or multiband processing (such as OTT) can easily be applied.
Best regards,
Joonas Ylänne
