Forums › DEALS › Virtual & Physical Music Gear Deals › 📢 LinkedMusicians 1st Anniversary FREE Giveaway Thread! $378 Worth of Prizes!

One year ago, we set out to build a different kind of music community—one rooted in ensuring non-toxic, friendly interactions, ethics, transparency, platform neutrality, and a shared love for the craft that is our common ground. Today, after reaching more than 100,000 visitors and counting since our pubic launch, LinkedMusicians is thriving.
We’ve expanded our platform significantly this year, launching tools like PowerSEARCH (to find reviews from Sound on Sound, Mix, and TapeOp), our Mixing & Mastering Problem Solver, and a suite of songwriting tools. Our Magazine and Podcast sections now bring you daily updates from the industry’s top publications—all free of charge. And the best news? There is much more planned for 2026.
To celebrate our first year, we’ve partnered with two of the most highly regarded developers in the industry to offer these incredible prizes that any member can win just by commenting in this thread. (A quick note to all of you lurkers reading this — join! LM is free, it’s friendly, and we’d love for you to be a part of it. Plus you can win an awesome prize!):
There will be two winners selected by Random.org. The first winner will receive a copy of IK Multimedia ReSing MAX. The second winner will receive a copy of Orange Tree Samples Evolution Indie Rock. But they’ll need to respond within 72 hours of notification (see the details below).

ONE thing? Hard to pick. I have to go “big picture” and say- “A culture of integrity” that LM strives for, top to bottom. I am hoping for more interaction on stuff beyond the deals, like favorite software, hardware, why you like it, why you don’t, how to use it, neat tricks it does, what issues are you having that you need help with, what new cool thing did you find that has not been mentioned on LM before?
First, unlike other forums, there are no censorship blackouts forbidding the discussion of “competitors” products. As a non-industry insider, I can feely let people know exactly how I feel about the new version of Studio One (errg… I mean the new Fender Studio Pro). Honest or critical posts are not removed. I appreciate this.
Second, the deals forum Rocks!!!
Soul, Blues, & Jazz on a Wurli or Rhodes

Thanks for entering and the feedback, everyone. It is invaluable and fascinating to me to understand what aspects of the site you find most useful.
Now let’s keep this going. I hope all of our members will enter, and while I realize it may seem counterintuitive to spread the word about a giveaway you want to win and lower the odds of your winning, spreading the word will help this succeed and help us to have more giveaways and exclusives in the future. So please, let others know about this giveaway; and help shape the future of LinkedMusicians.

My favourite thing about Linked Musicians is knowing that it is being run by someone who is genuinely passionate about music and who is encouraging people by creating a caring environment.
Apart from the forums the area that I enjoy most is the Open Mic Section which I can see developing into a friendly and interesting discussion area where we can get to know each other better and thus build the community
It is simply a nice place to relax, checking the latest news. Everyone is easy going and focused on music. Although Peter created this, with some help of course, but its also the community that makes LinkedMusicians what it is.
My name is Jacques but you can call me Blacque Jacque Shellacque for short
I’m not entering, obviously, but I wanted to say good luck to everybody! I like reading the comments above, because I have known Peter for a long time and I couldn’t think of a better person to be at the helm of a cool community like this. It has his fingerprints all over it, he brings vast knowledge and passion, and also as I see stated above – the people really make the community. So he’s not shouting into a vacuum nor are all of you.
It’s all very positive, very supportive, and refreshing to see. It is also nice that I’m even allowed to post about our deals here because I do hear that people miss deals (not everybody interested in IK gets all emails or is hyper-involved with us enough to catch everything and that’s expected) and being the person who typically sets the deals in motion with the price changes, offer setup, and all that jazz it is nice to spread the love as quickly as I can. When I can, I promise to do better with that and let you all know almost like you’re insiders 🙂
Anyway, this is not about me but I’m very happy that this forum exists so I got excited and chatty. Congrats on the anniversary, I look forward to many more! All hail Peter AND every member of the community. Something like this is difficult to get off the ground, let alone maintaining and growing. Keep it up!
I represent IK Multimedia so I will post official things. I also may just post random things as a real human being because I also represent one of those. I will try to be clear when I'm just speaking as Peter, instead of "Peter from IK".
I make no promises to be 100% accurate in doing so, though. 🙂
Well, you’re definitely in now. @mrfigg! 🙂
To clarify a question I was asked a little while ago, all Orange Tree Samples Evolution instruments, including Indie Rock, use the free Kontakt Player. I actually wanted to make sure that all everything in our giveaway doesn’t require any additional paid products.

No need to add me to the giveaway participants, of course–I just wanted to mention that if the winner of this giveaway happens to already own a copy of Evolution Indie Rock, I can substitute it with one of our other virtual instruments of equal value.
What I really value about this community is how welcoming everyone is. It’s a breath of fresh air, and very evident that folks are here because of their mutual love of music. I’m not sure about how the specific features would work, but anything that facilitates collaborating on writing/recording music or helps people progress in their journey of musical learning (music theory, recording techniques, etc.) would be fantastic!

Great to hear that from Greg as I already have everything but the latest release from OTS 🙂
Initially I began monitoring LM deals here (long time listener?) as I was frustrated by the gag order on competing products from some other sites (as a Cubase user). Was also curious when I started hearing references there to the secret “new site”. So that was the original hook…
But that said, thrilled to see the focus on thinking about what more can be done to foster a community and a conscious attempt to minimize toxicity that can often permeate discussions given the anonymous and disconnected nature of the internet.
Congrats on the milestone!
I would be... Jeff.
Xandre posted exactly what I was going to say. Founder Peter (that has a ring to it!) has not only his longtime ties with developers but also a strong background in modern marketing (web, digital etc). Sharing that knowledge and expertise helps us understand the plugin market. He has some very interesting ideas that if developed into Forum functionality will be real time savers for us. The daily email of deal highlights is one example.
The music shared and discussion of how people use products is very helpful.
Doug
Nice to see you here! I am willing to do the same. Great gesture, happy to be a part of this with you.

First annivesary? Seems like a lifetime already!
Anyway. Congrats for the achievement!
Otherwise I think most my thoughts have already been said, but I really do appreciate there’s a place to share an honest opinion on all products, without the fear of blackouts like Hoppy said. Especially with such a low barrier for entry. Even if it goes against survival instinct financially. Thus, kudos to Peter for having principles in that front, and props to the few devs who can also live with that fact.
All the best to coming years.
My favorite thing about this site is the people, by far. Plus being able to comment on both positive and negative aspect of products/things without it ever becoming hostile at any point.
I also scour the deals pages, even though I’m on a plugin buying hiatus.
All the best.

Ok here goes …
1.) No BS nastiness for no reason, aka none of that toxic attitude.
2.) Deals is too obvious, so going with the tools that actually help make music. I mean you can get all the plugins in the world but you need the extras to use them, and this place is the complete solution.
Happy anniversary LM, and good luck to everyone. 🙂
What a great contest! Hard to believe it has been one year.
A few things, I realize that a lot of us — those with early adopter under their usernames — have been here as far back as Sept 2024 when we were in beta. I made the logos back than and the vintage emblem reads “established in 2024” which I suppose I should revise to 2025. But we’re counting from the public launch in April 2025, not when we were in a beta test period.
Now, my family, friends, and colleagues will tell you that I get uncomfortable with compliments. As a manager, at a certain point in my career, I realized that I don’t operate like most people and needed to push myself to celebrate milestones and accomplishments for the sake of teams that I’ve led. Personally, I’m satisfied knowing that I did something well or very well and moving on. I’ve always enjoyed being part of a team rather than a solo act. Musically, I’ve always preferred to be part of the band — on the drums and writing songs. I’ve always loved to perform as a musician, but I never wanted to be the person in the spotlight with the mic. I’ve always found more joy in praising someone on my teams and feeling part of something bigger than myself. I’m sure that our resident psychologist (literally) could explain that. So reading these compliments, I just want everyone to know that I am very grateful, but I really just wanted to get your thoughts on what you enjoy and use the most at LinkedMusicians. I hope no one reading this thinks that I intended to solicit any praise. Heavens, no. I just want to learn what features of the site you enjoy the most.
And just like a great band, we’ve had a bunch of members who’ve provided helpful advice, volunteered with moderation, including @bluescat, @joegyork, @doug, and @mustakatu. And there’s one person that has done more on this site than anyone outside of yours truly, who has accomplished most of the things on my wish list for LinkedMusicians, some of which I didn’t expect to happen, because they were out of the budget: @lamia6. For example, our most requested feature for LM has been the Daily Email Digest. Our members asked for that during the beta period, but I was already over far over my budget. Lamia6 came along, told me that she was going to make that happen. She coded it, installed it, and testing it. She’s a very talented web developer and, more importantly, a wonderful, kind, and incredibly thoughtful human being. From day one I dreamed about the ability for each member to be able to include their music streaming on their profile page and shared that with Lamia6. What did she do? She made it happen. I created a page for a rhyming dictionary several weeks ago. Lamia6 looked at it and on her site, she built something 100x better that she called the Songwriter’s Toolbox and asked me if I liked it and wanted her to put it on LM. “Are you serious? Do you even need to ask me that? I love it!!!” I responded. She’s written lots of other code on this site and fixed more issues than I can recall offhand.
So I just want everyone to know, this site, while it is my passion project, I have had family and friends from the beginning and along the way that have put in their time and passion into it — or in my family’s case, listened to me talk about it, complain about issues, ask their opinions, and encourage me time after time. While it started as a solo project, it certainly didn’t stay a solo project for long. It would be nothing without my family, my friends, and every member of the LM community. I thank you for being here, for our shared love for music and making music, our shared values about transparency, ethics, speak honestly but never forget about treating others with respect and kindness.
We have to limit posts in this thread so it’s not a monster to pull out names — so I think I’ll make a spin-off thread. But I just want people to know, while I’m grateful for people who appreciate the site, expressing that gratitude, I did build this site initially on my own with my wife and kids, my friends @thor and @gregjazz giving lots of input on decisions, around a year ago, the site really became something bigger when it became all of us. I’m just the guy behind the drums, hosting the jam session and buying the pizza. It takes all of us together to make the music, that’s why I did this, that’s what makes it all special.
Thanks again to everyone here, and especially those who have volunteered or made any kind of contribution of their time, skills, encouragement, or financial in support of LinkedMusicians.
– Peter

What do I like most? Well, two things, actually. It’s great to be part of a community where there isn’t constant bickering. It’s gets kind of old, you know. People here are able to be adult and have rational discussions without devolving into flames. Heck, even Peter-IK can post here without fear of being burning to the ground. It”s all quite refreshing, actually.
The #2 things I like is Peter’s extraordinary insight into the business aspects behind the music/hardware industry. He ought to write a book! His insights always fascinate me.
What forum other than “Deals” do I enjoy? “All things music”. There’s always something interesting happening there.
And one last thing I like is that the people who actually build all these plugins/instruments will occasionally post here!
