I’ve had this up on Knobcloud for a few months, as one of my only few regrettable purchases since taking the plugin journey. Sad to see the value has dropped more than 50% off what i bought it on sale for a couple years ago, but it makes sense. The signal feedback resonance is pretty painful to control (not that real feedback is), but as a plugin this introduces some wild whale-like noises every now and then, which is tough to automate-away, i expected more detailed control from someone like softube. All that said, I’ve never been able to really dial-in this plugin, maybe someone else has and would be willing to share tips (since I’m most likely stuck with it anyway after this sale lol, especially with the ilok transfer fee costing more than the plugin now)
I have it too and have never used it. I wonder if you could follow it up with a filter to control some of the frequencies that are getting out of control?
I have been real happy riding/automating the “Volume” on IK’s Tape Echo to get feedback. You can run through it real-time and record the results until you get one that works for what your trying to do.

I have that one by IK and will have to try that method as an alternative. Thanks for the filter tip as well. Originally got this plugin with the intention of digitally replicating the classic feedback sounds you get from an amp (with the electric guitar up close). I was let down a bit. You may have different results if you try it out. I at least wanted to get my personal feedback out there to anyone thinking about buying this plugin. I would advise anyone to demo first. I did not.

Thanks for sharing that. That’s the kind of honest posts I hope to see at this site. Just sharing our honest experiences. It might be completely different for someone else, but it reflects your first hand experiences. I think the more information we have like this, the less likely we are to turn to biased influencer “review” videos and articles which are really just compensated sales promotion content. In the next several months. I’m going to be introducing a systematic way of gathering this information and putting it near sales pricing, so people researching plugins and sample libraries can easily find it.
Your friend who keeps the beat. I suppose I'm also the chef at this place.
Being super candid, on a personal level as a plugin users, I really like the Softube plugins that I own. So seeing this so cheap immediately got my attention.
What immediately gave me pause is that looking at the various posts and just about everyone commenting leaves me with the takeaway that achieving good results with this plugin isn’t easy, and the reality for me is that I really don’t have even passable audio engineering skills. I want tools that enable me to get good results quickly and that clearly isn’t what people feel is this plugin’s strong suit.

DISCLOSURE: I’ve advised more than 3 dozen sample and plugin developers on branding and marketing strategy. I’ve never been paid to make posts, they reflect my sincere opinions, and I’ve never been an influencer.
Absolutely agree, softube to me is one of the more solid developers out there. This one to me is questionable. Due to the lack of control I’ve been able to get with it, i have at least come close to achieving the “feedback effect” i wanted by bouncing the audio and modifying the pitch and volume curve of the waveform, adding a bit of reverb as well. However I feel like i shouldn’t have to do that outside of the track I’m composing on, especially having paid $40 for it. At this point I have found alternatives out there to get the job done. Heck, I even prefer the feedback-like sound that comes from Beatsurfing’s “Random” plugin, and that is a synth instrument plugin. I primarily use this effect in rock tracks to layer on top of builds/crescendos up to a big chorus or something similar. But i don’t want to spend too much time there. This softube effect plugin takes too much time to dial in for me, and the feedback sound itself sounds doesn’t seem to change much, regardless of the audio source you feed into it. And as we musicians who play electric guitar know, feedback can come in so many variations; what comes out in real life is almost always unique
Amp Feedback can be quite useful. I have this plugin but, when I wanted to use feedback in a song it was easier using a loop library instead of the plugin (of course, it depends on the song, I used the effect to add some spice to EDM, with further assistance from MRhythmizer. For “raw rock” the plugin could be better)

Right…just installed it. I put a Big Muff before it and would get excited for a couple of seconds thinking it was feeding back nicely then the next note I played just sputtered out. I’ll keep at it to see if I can work out some sort technique. What I absolutely DIDN’T like was that the installer made me install the White Amp demo. Said it was “needed”. I had to go in and find the .dlls and delete them manually. I don’t like being forced to install demos I’m not interested in.
