Now the number of members says 53, but I use two for testing and the developer has one, so we’re now at 50 actual community members. But go ahead and invite your friends and tell them to send me their desired username, first and last name and I’ll register them during this period. I just don’t want to open to the general public until everything on…Read More

Tuesday night, a good friend of mine texted me to tell me that he had an extra ticket to a concert to see a few 90s rockers, STP, Live and Soul Asylum. Seeing some good ol’ rockers and old friend sounded good to me, so I quickly said yes. He even offered to pick me up. Pretty nice.
My friend told me that he and his wife originally planned t…Read More

I did look up the bands and none of them have the original members. Live is only the original lead singer of the band, who doesn’t get along with his former bandmates, so he sued, is using the band name, and has a bunch of different musicians. Soul Asylum is also only the lead singer. STP the original musicians with a different lead singer who…Read More

The other day, a good friend of mine texted me and told me he had an extra ticket available to a concert to see a few 90s rockers, STP, Live and Soul Asylum. I haven’t gotten out much lately, so I leapt at the chance to hang out with a great guy and hear a bunch of old rockers from the era I was playing.
My friend told me that he and his w…Read More

Live, from my hometown of York, PA Of course I was gone when they were forming and playing locally:-(

The lead singer (Ed?) had introduced a song he wrote about York — and I do love the York Peppermint Patty, which I learned from him is made in the town, or at least the company was founded there — although the lyrics for that song were pretty much Spinal Tap territory. I take it the song isn’t very appreciated there. I suppose I could name the…Read More

York Peppermint Patties were made in York, until Peter Paul, and then Hershey bought them. As a kid I used to walk to the factory from my grandmother’s house and buy factory seconds. Still love them.
And yea I recall “Sh-t Towne”, I will say York has come a long way since then, but the eighties it was going downhill.
The older Strand and Capital…Read More

A musician friend of mine recently posted this to Facebook. True. Plus Gilmour is one of my favorite rock guitarists.

@cclarry is a talented rock guitarist and does a really good cover of a Pink Floyd song. I’d post it if he’s okay with it.

Reflecting on this day, 23 years ago and my very non-marketing experience handling a forum for 9/11 World Trade Center attack survivors.
I walked into my office in Chicago where I was Director of e-Business Strategy for a Fortune 200 that sustained the third-highest employee casualties in the WTC. By mid-morning I was part of a phone call with…Read More

I want to thank two major rock stars.
@cclarry — he’s literally the reason that the Cakewalk Deals subforum (it was just part of their Coffee House Forum, you couldn’t even find it easily; what Ashwin from BandLab calls “the legacy forums; used by an older demographic that BandLab doesn’t really care about) — exist, he’s the person that made…Read More

tell me how many songs you can name with a placenta reference in it?
I’m shocked Alice Cooper didn’t come up with that🤪
Live is an awesome band Throwing Copper rocks.
Stone Temple Pilots are one of my favorite bands, Interstate Love Song rules, too bad about Weiland.
Soul Asylum was pretty cool, Somebody to Shove was an okay song.🤘
