I mostly agree with you Peter, I’ll only add

Neil Diamond
Jesse Winchester
Lyle Lovett

It’s my take on the NY Times framework, the 30 best living American songwriters. If it included deceased songwriters or songwriters outside the US, there’s no way I could keep it to 30 and McCartney and Lennon would be at the top of the list.

Neil Diamond was one I debated putting on. He probably should be there.

That’s actually a great price but I need another DAW like I need a hole in my head! 😉

I hears ya. I have 13 holes in my head.

Fender Studio Pro
Cubase
Reaper
Pro Tools
Harrison Mixbus
Cakewalk (free, no need for the extras now)
Digital Performer
FL Studio
Bitwig
Reason
Universal Audio Luna
Samplitude
Mixcraft

The mainly used DAWs are (in order of use)
Fender Studio Pro
Cubase
Reaper

When I get Reaper projects, I use the ProjetConverter program to convert to DAWProject format then open that DawProject file in Fender Studio Pro and save it. Then in my main Fender Studio Pro project I use the built copy song data from that converted project.

When I get Cubase Projects, I export to DAWProject format and open that DawProject file in Fender Studio Pro and save it. Then in my main Fender Studio Pro project I use the built copy song data from that converted project.

Our keyboard player (Tom) uses Reaper and so I just send him stems and he sends back a full project with all his parts. Sadly there is a bit of a mismatch between DAWProject format using ProjectConvertor to import into Reaper. I wish Reaper would adopt DAWProject import/export.

Our drummer (Hugo) uses Cubase so I export my project Fender Studio Pro to DAWProject format for import/save to Cubase. Simples.

Our singer (Ken) and guitarist (Eren) use Studio One 7, soon to upgrade to Fender version, so they get a V7 “tracking version” of the project and they send their full production of their parts and I just use the Fender Studio Pro built in import Song Data function on their projects (or import stems if that is what they send).

I do own an Ignite series Hofner. I’ve used it most recently on the last Fizzy Pickle song (Thrilllller).

Since I do more metal than pop, a real/true Hofner is financially impractical at this time.

How do I imbed vimeo here?

Otherwise, Ed, as expected from Fizzy Pickle, the song sounds excellent. That singer has a great voice, the band sounds superb, and the mix is top notch! Really, kudos to all of you. It very much sounds like a total pro production on every level.

Check out my music.

Yes, Liz is pretty great. Daryl is what I aspire to be in a mix engineer. Me? Imma just the bass player in Fizzy Pickle. 😉

$28 if you buy a 6 pack of generic serials from thomassmusic.com.

For those who are unaware, you *do not* have to use all 6 serials at once.

As one who not only has aged hearing loss, I’ve had multiple ear operations over the years and I can now only mix with over the ears headphones, with my hearing aids in. I use Sennheiser HD650s.

This looks interesting in that maybe I could run its tests without my hearing aids in and see what it does for me.

Fortunately I’m on their subscription plan until december so I can try this out for free and and if I’m pleased with the results I’ll purchae durung Black Friday as by that time my subscription will end and I’m not renewing it this year.

Just a reminder: The best deal on new SDXs is the Best Service SDX 3 Pack for $341. That’s $114 per SDX.

Yes, it’s a large upfront purchase but you get 3 generic serial numbers you can use singularly at any time to register a new SDX.

I find 3 serials generally are used in about 18 to 24 months. SDXs come at a slower pace than EZXs.

Thomanmusic has an EZX 3 Pack for $175. That’s $58 per EZX.

My upgrade price (from 3) was $99.

I purchased it.

Got an email from support they cancelled the order. They said I did not have 3 (I did and bought it directly from them). I sent them my order number and date  of purchase.

They responded that somehow 3 was not registered in my account (that what they checked) but the order was in my order history (ummmm DUH!).

So, they synced up the registrations with the orders and now 3 showed up for them.

Here’s the best part, they apologized and registered 4 to my account free of charge.
