Thanks for the tip. I was not sure I needed more plugins, but couldn’t pass up getting in at the $99 level with just $30 out of my pocket!

I will finally get some Tonex stuff to go with my amplitube (I was on CS only) and the new T-Racks 6 (I was on T-Racks 5). Cool upgrades. Now I need to figure out a couple of Pianoverse models which are the best to get.

Hum, like most everyone I don’t like and don’t pay for WUP. But that has never stopped me from using Waves plugins. Unlike a subscription, not paying for WUP does not render your plugin unusable. Waves plugin do not get upgrades that often and not taking WUP does not seem to penalize me in any way. I still use older version of some of their plugin that I never WUPed and they still work fine. I think I WUPed the Scheps Omni Channel once to get the new v2.0 features, but that is about the extend of my WUPing. It has never stopped me from using Waves plugin. But I am just a DIYer doing stuff for himself, so not dependent on my plugins all that much. I think you should only WUP if new features you want are added and just ignore it if things are working fine with the version you have. This way you will drown very little cash into WUP.

It took me a while to understand. At first I thought you were getting this special price if you paid for 6 months of subscription. But it seems you get the perpetual license for $99 AND a free 6 month subscription to the rest. Almost too good to be true and I am still trying to figure out what is the catch. This is half price of the perpetual license, even if you don’t count the 6 month subscription on a brand new released version.

Used to use 4% of CPU, now it’s only half.

There are some issues but this one was the MOST important of all, from my POV.

Still, who is gonna argue that taking more than a year to fix it, or more, it’s an ok thing.

If you used 1 or 2 instances probably wouldn’t be that awful.

But in some weird cases, I admit, I would need 8 instances or more and my super duper Mac Mini Pro M2 would suffer.

Anyway, I hope me bothering them paid off (I know I am nothing, still…)
(I didn’t know the bug was there until I started getting into my songs like maybe 2 months ago).

Aaaanyway, probably their effort put into fixing it was important to them because they needed to FINALLY find out what was wrong so they can release Amplitube 6. But that is speculative ofc.

 

Well low and behold! I don’t see the bug on Windows anymore either! Great! The CPU usage is now the same at the start than after doing the routing dance, go to double routing and back to single. It took them like forever, but they finally delivered… without much fanfare though. 😉

Interesting, I will go check if there is some difference on Windows too later on. It’s been a while since I checked if the CPU problem I reported on the other forum, you may remember a couple of years ago,  which Zo found how to easily reproduce using routing change. I’ll report back later…

I have always used my real name: Jacques Boileau or at least jboileau in the few forums I have been on until this one. For a change I decided to use a nick name I was given by a bandmate: Blacque Jacque Shellacque, for this forum.

For those who don’t know, Blacque Jacque Shellacque was a character in a couple of Bugs Bunny episode. He was a Canadian lumberjack who had a girlfriend named Fifi who was from Montreal. I am a Canadian who was born in Montreal, so it seemed fitting.

Yeah, you are right it’s white background not light gray. Got to get my eyesight checked! 😆 But it is light gray in quotes… BTW it is not a big deal, if you have more pressing matters this should be on the back burner.

If you mean the left blue bar in the title that turns grey when you read a post, then it doesn’t seem to work for me. I tried the mark as read and there is momentary animatin beside it to show it working, but all the blue bars stay blue. I am using the site in white mode if that has any impact.
