Title says it all…
With all the knowledge and experience that you’ve gained, if you had to start all over or had to recommend to audio newbies, what would you invest in sw gear-wise(virtual effects, processors and instruments, sample libraries, DAWs)? And what would you not invest in?
(Also, I didn’t know which section of the forum to post…Read More

Here’s hoping that this acquisition is a good thing for customers.
Lionel replied to the topic Arturia V Collection 11 Coming April 24th [Not a Deal] in the forum Virtual & Physical Music Gear Deals
Look like if you have version 9 or below, the upgrade is $299. If you have version 10, it’s $199.
Once the upgrade price lowers to $99, I’m all over this one.
Lionel replied to the topic Arturia V Collection 11 Coming April 24th [Not a Deal] in the forum Virtual & Physical Music Gear Deals
I’m only interested in one of the synths. I could really use Pure LoFi on my current project.
But seeing how I just recently upgraded to 10 recently, I’m just gonna have to wait til BF/CM to upgrade to 11. Hopefully the upgrade price won’t be too high then.
Lionel replied to the topic Waves Free Plugin Pack in the forum Virtual & Physical Music Gear Deals
Got me thinking… This actually sets an interesting precedent. If they’re able to offer plugins that never need to be WUP’d, then that means they could potentially offer something like this in their other plugins as well. I mean, I seriously wouldn’t mind paying a little bit more for their plugins(maybe $39-49/each) if it meant that I’d ne…Read More

It’s desperation… and a smart move
The Catch = 1. Get new users 2. Reinvigorate interest in their plugins to drum up business
I, for one, haven’t used their plugins since that March 26th debacle a few years back. Tbh, I just lost faith in them. But this is a good move on their part to regain customers’ trust, though

Lionel started the topic REASON thread in the forum DAWs, Hosts & Audio Editors
Just curious, who are the Reason users here? Or, the better question to ask is, “Are there any Reason users here?” Reason is my go-to DAW when creating music(I use Ableton when mixing). Would love to talk shop with fellow Reason users, if there are any. ReasonTalk forums is meh, lol.
Cheers

Some notes you’ll want to consider:
- Have a signed agreement in place. Saves headaches later on.
- Establish who did what. That determines the cut.
- If you’re collaborating with talent, you usually need a talent release.
- Establish how much each party will be getting paid. Distrokid has an easy way to divy profits to each collaborator.

As far as I’m aware, Maschine 2 doesn’t disappear. Much like e.g. previous versions of Kontakt, they stay in your library if you have them. If you have a mk2 device, you can continue to use Maschine 2. The device doesn’t suddenly become a doorstop; you just can’t use it with Maschine 3.And of course,…

Hey all,
I’m at a point where I’m purchasing much less HW/SW these days. It’s kind of weird to say, but there’s nothing that really amazes me anymore. I think the last time I was amazed was during the Universal Audio sales. Hated all the glitches on their deals(people got insanely great deals). But regardless of the glitches, they make some of…Read More
