Hollywood Background Singers is the one I want the most, too.  That said, had to bite for Ra and Spaces II for $44.10.  The Spaces license was directly deposited in my iLok upon registering the Ra with EasWest.

And no, I don’t have hard drive space for it. 😛

The upcoming Koda Sampler looks like it could be a major competitor to Kontakt with fantastically awful timing for NI and any assumed ongoing market dominance by Kontakt and related financial maneuvering.  I was quite impressed by the Koda NAMM presentation videos, at least.

I ~might~ buy Absynth 6 if it went on significant sale, as I was holding out for the next Komplete and subsequent SOS sale but am not feeling confident there will be another even if NI remains afloat to some degree. I fear the pricing and bundling models will change, which will definitely make me intensely less interested in NI products.

I sold a painful amount of gear to buy a Moog Matriarch.  A portion of the cash outlay was my Christmas present from my family, so I have to wait until the holidays to dig in.  I can’t wait , though.  I haven’t been so giddy in ages.

My guess is that, because it’s a small shop, sometimes the owners load up the new sales and forget to exclude it from discount codes when the developer doesn’t permit it or there’s not enough profit margin to allow for it.

The upgrade from UAD Signature v1 to v3 for $99 felt like a banging deal (and is).  That said, when I look at how much I spent previously to get there, it was certainly more than the present $349 sale price of Signature v3 for new users.  The upside is that I wouldn’t have paid out that much cash on UAD in one go, so it works for me.

If you are kind of a noob (like I was) then discounts are great.
So for me UAD BF sales are kind of meh right now.

 

Softube still too expensive.

Agree that Softube doesn’t really seem to be trying or reading the market.  Maybe it will become more exciting around BF/CM proper.

I’m a bundle 5 owner and only missing Superplate and they want $29.00.  While not a horrid deal, I’m drowning in reverbs and standard Waves-style pricing that they run several times a year doesn’t do it for me as a BF-grade offer.

PB makes you log in and then tells me I’m not eligible for this deal. No sign of a normal purchase and then verify process- just tells me I’m ineligible. I own v1 but have no idea how they would know that (or otherwise).

It is also worth noting that Softube offered nice discount coupons to existing owners of the freebie plugs. The coupon for Wasted Space was 30% off and would stack with publicly available sale item discounts, but would not stack with subscriber-club specific sale items (for some reason).

Interesting language in the copy — “[A]udio Modeling is offering an unprecedented promotion for the SWAM VariFlute: $39 FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR!”  Begs the question if it is a sub or a perpetual license.  If the referenced “entire year” is just the promotional period, nice to have that much time to decide, but it is vague language.

I’ve wanted to grab a SWAM instrument as I was impressed by their stuff for GeoShred back when I had a working iPad.
