I was watching Simeon do a demo on Slower which has a “fragment” version (just one of the several instruments). I went to the e-Instruments sites and listened to Desolate because I love twangy reverb drenched tremolo guitar (Twin Peaks, Duane Eddy etc). I might bite on getting the rest of the plugin. It’s very playable which is not always the case with guitar VST’s.

Plugin Alliance was the first company I bought a plugin from – the bx_bassdude fender bassman VST, probably developed by Igor Nembrini. Everyday when I practice bass I use their Ampgeg B15N which I know Nembrini developed. I always enjoyed Dirk’s marketing shenanigans and am grateful for the freebies they’ve shared over the years.

I commented this on another thread here – If I had just bought the $99 Studio Max 5 upgrade it would have automatically been exactly what I picked with the 50 group buy items. .

I just finished all but one of my Group Buy 2025 promotion choices. I made sure I had every TR6 FX (my last Total Studio Max was for TR5), all the Pianoverse pianos, All the Tonex and AmpliTube Signature Collections. Then I chose some SampleTank items like LA Confidential, London Grooves, Salsa Percussion and a few others.

I had to open each TR6 item in my DAW to check if I had it or not. Same in Tonex and AmpliTube. Good exercise though because I checked them all out as I did so. Learned much by watching YouTube videos at the same time.

I downloaded all the Pianoverse grand pianos. Might do the uprights later once I make sure I’ve got all the T-Racks 6 stuff and other little hidden gems like Salsa Percussion Loops which is actually a very playable latin percussion VST.

BTW, I figured out that when you click “Submit” to just keep refreshing that page until it goes through – you don’t lose the slot and the product will get added to the account

I bought the PB AT5 for $29 for our studio account. The main difference going in at $199 was T-Racks Pro instead of T-Racks which I think mostly eliminates the need for slots for TR6 items

I got in at the $99 level. My last purchase was Total Studio 2 Max so I used up all my slots buying T-Racks 6 products, Pianoverse, Tonex Collections, Modo Bass guitars not included in base product, a few Modo Drums, ARC X, The Resonator and some other odds and ends.

This deal gets you in at the $199 level – is there anything between $99-199 of interest that would not have been in my drop down from the $99 level?

I would hold off right now (Monday morning Oct 27) on processing your promotion slots.

I just confirmed a promotion slot for the Tonex Signature Hyde Street Amp Locker and my browser reported back a 500 connection reset error. The slot is showing as redeemed but I’ve waited way longer than normal for the email confirmation (not received). I also did a restore purchases in Tonex but no Hyde Street Amp Locker.

Working now, I use AIR products (Velvet in particular), so I know the drill, launched their Windows app, add product – pasted serial in and then download, then install. They must have fixed it.

Upgrade ordered. I’m used to the interface so not too concerned about that. I use it for jam sessions, it’s great being able to instantly load up synth patches with effects in one slot in Cantabile.

Update on my Tonex Signature Bass Collection purchase that didn’t qualify for the group buy. Since it was released after the beginning the Group Buy it would not be available as a free title to choose.

The captures in the Bass Collection are top notch, I found many good ones on Tonex Net but these new ones are just unbelievably good. So, I’m going to buy another Tonex collection to enter the Group Buy.

Is Brown Collection 1 a qualifying purchase? I’m asking because I want to make double sure this round 🙂

At least I have plenty of Jam Points to take the edge off this.

I could have so easily have bought one of the Brown collections and gotten the Bass collection later as one of the free titles.

I thought I was an experienced IK buyer. What threw me off is that if you click on the “See qualifying TONEX Signature Collections” link you come to a page that shows the Bass Collection

Bought the Tonex Bass collection, took 15 Jampoints so qualified for $85. This will be well worth it as I need ARC X and a bunch of guitar Tonex collections (Brown versions especially).

I usually just use a dried out 🙂 Legacy of Rock Jet Black kit so I listened to the No Doubt songs based on that SDX. Sounded good – will probably buy a bundle of 5 or 10 at some point.

I’m staying on Mixbus Pro 10 myself – I track in Reaper and then mixdown in Mixbus. If no midi instruments are involved, I’ll start in Mixbus. I’ll go to the next version of Mixbus Pro after they fix MIDI.

Returning back to comment that the last couple of updates have much improved the Cakewalk Sonar user experience. The banner and countdown are gone. Hopefully next they can move the evaluation notice to the title bar.
