Tom Service is a Marmite presenter here in the UK on the classical music station BBC Radio 3 – people either love him or hate him. For the record I love Tom but hate Marmite! I was initially confused by you asking whether Marmite were a sponsor of the article until I read what I had written again. It’s a British…Read More-
I grew up on all of those bands and a lot more. But I became an AC/DC fan with the “Back in Black” album as a teeen. Deep Purple, I loved them since I was a little kid and saw them as teen. I saw Rush live twice back in the 80s and 90s.

Whilst we have spent decades using samplers to imitate real life, capturing authentic-sounding renditions of instruments as well as the spirit of place and performance, sampling also allows for the impossible to be conjured with these very same instruments. Just started listening to this concert from the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow back in January. I’m not really a metal guy — although, I’m very open to anything and there have been a number of metal songs I like, so I’m definitely not a hater and always keep an open mind, and there are elements of metal I enjoy. I think the writer makes some very good points and I’d be intrigued to hear what the orchestra does.
On a much smaller note –…Read More
