Thinking about the mess that is the Diamond Comics bankruptcy process. Is there any money smaller sample library developers prepaid to NI that might be given to debtors as part of the current insolvency? For instance: do they pre-buy a number of serials to be used within Native Access so their libraries can be used with Kontakt Player? Or is their current risk that the Kontakt platform will die / the new owner will significantly increase the license cost to build Kontakt libraries.

Didn’t Magix have to sell off their Samplitude and Seqoia to Boris FX? Not sure about all of their other brands like Vegas and Soundforge.

Not sure which parts NI would sell off to get back to their ‘core’ business.

One thing I sometimes struggle with is wanting to support developers, but also wanting to save a couple of bucks.

I assume buying directly from a software developer would give them the most margin. But I would like to know which resellers are most ‘ethical’, especially towards smaller developers. And maybe some developers don’t even have their own storefront because that is even more expensive for them than hand off a margin to a reseller.

So I’d love to have some more insight/transparency on that, when deciding on buying something.

Well the difference between  Music Tribe buying NI or Gibson, is that Music Tribe would sell new hardware for half the price, whilst Gibson would sell it for five times the current price. The quality would be about the same I guess .. 😂

Wouldn’t they go into competition with themselves if they bought NI, or even just Kontakt + NKS? They already own UVI.

Maybe they will split off their DJ Branch and keep Kontakt / Machine. Not sure who would be candidates for that part though.

Not bought software from them, but I see quite a lot gear reviews from their inhouse Guitar brands lately. So they seem to be legit.

I am surprised that the Omnivoice Beta is part of all versions of Cubase 15.

On the other hand they might have some telemetry set up in it to capture user usage.

Probably the same as the latest bug fix release from Cubase the other week: fixing some bugs a couple of weeks before the next main release.
Which will be paid for everyone that got SO 7 with it’s initial release.

I think I had this one as part of a course from Joey over at CreativeLive. I couldn’t get a tone from it I really liked.

I even tried Misha’s signature plugin from around that time. It was nothing like the NeuralDSP one.

What happened with those? I see they’re not even sold on your webshop anymore.
